My new outdoor carpet!

The birch tree shed its golden leaves, they lay undisturbed like a new carpet that no one's allowed to walk on...

Homemade applesauce!

Today I made homemade applesauce from apples grown on our own apple tree! First year the crop has been big enough to do anything with. Last year 1 apple, this year 3/4 of a bushel! All Connell Red, a variety developed especially for our northern climate.

Applesauce is easy to make! Take 4 apples, peel, core and cut into sections. Simmer for 20 minutes with 3/4 cup of water, 1/4 c. sugar (brown or white) and a splash of cinnamon. Then cool and mash with a potato masher. EZ! and yummy

Fab new jacket that I made!

Just listed on etsy - a fab new black pleather jacket that I made! You know how sometimes you dream up something and it turns out just the way you wanted, and you stand back and go, yeah... that's the way this jacket is. The fabric is all stitched like a cable knit, so it's all stretchy. Faux leather front panels with black soutache braid and pewter tone skull buttons. Size Women's medium or Euro 36. Now for sale in my etsy shop! Check it out!

WOW Etsy front page!

Boy was I surprised last night to find out that one of my clothing pieces is featured on the Etsy front page this weekend! It's the navy blue waistcoat of course. But the fun thing is it's featured as part of National Talk Like a Pirate Day! Arrrrgh matey! The shop has gotten lots of hearts yesterday and today and the waistcoat has gotten thousands of views!

Wish I'd had the shop filled with all the wonderful black leather jackets that I've designed in my head! I've been so distracted by working on my vintage etsy shop that I've only made one outfit this month!

Arrrrrrighty then - back to work!

New employee!

A BIG welcome to my new employee, Rockzee! She is from New Jersey, pretty quiet gal, but is a great model! Pretty dang skinny too. Rockzee will be my main model since my last one moved to Atlanta.

She has assimilated pretty well in the household here, except she keeps scaring my husband. I think all she really thinks about is her new boyfriend Mark and what she's going to wear when she goes out with him. Lately I've been having her model new shrugs and evening "tiny jackets" that I've made. They're for sale in my etsy shop which you can find at!

It's really cold here!

Yeah, okay, so it's winter. But this morning it was -35 at my house! That's actual air temperature, not wind chill. Schools closed and all. I haven't been out of my house since Monday. You'd think I would have gotten a lot of work done! I did manage to whip up a couple of shrugs and got them listed on etsy.
