By train at first, while they were still functioning. Then a ride here and there, when people still had gasoline. Then walking... walking and hiding when she had to.

She headed for her sister's house. Apparently they had survived for a while after the pandemic. The windows had been fenced off - to protect against marauders?

Now the windows were gone, the roof was going.

Mostly she traveled alone. Sometimes with other lost and wandering souls. After the pandemic, when the U.S. became wild and fractured, there were lots of wanderers. People looking for family, or running the other way. Dangerous to have a truck when everyone would do anything to have one.

So many roaming the countryside looking for a safe haven. All she knew to do was to try to head for home and hope that her family had somehow survived.

Vintage leather jackets

I've found so many fabulous vintage leather jackets in the last month! Four or 5 of them are Berman's leather jackets from the 1980's. Just had a photo shoot with my gorgeous model who showed up with a way cool new hairstyle. What d'ya think?

Wild leggings

Finished creating the wild black & lime green leggings yesterday! The black straps just above the knee took a little while, as I made them from scratch with faux leather tabs on the ends. I used 2 kinds of vintage buckles.

They turned out pretty BA! Now to get some pics of them to post.

Finally getting some dresses listed online!

I've been neglecting my Rock Fabric Scissors shop on Etsy... it's time to get some new things created and listed!

Just put this strapless dress up for sale. I fell in love with this fabric when I bought it, it has such a luscious satiny feel to it! Couldn't decide what sort of belt to put with it but finally chose a textured purple satin with a hand made rosette.

The model fell in love with the dress too!

Fabric shop visit

Nothing like a visit to the fabric warehouse to get inspiration for new pieces! How about this stretchy black and lime fabric for leggings? Maybe with stretchy black strips in the leg area with buckles on the outside of the legs?

Gadgets

Yay for Craft Cult! I just added this fun gadget to my blog... it's called a Pocket Shop and really looks just like that! Might remove the Etsy mini now as it's a little redundant.

Vintage clutch revamped

I breathed new death into this vintage patent leather clutch! It was a great old clutch but rather plain. So I attached Tibetan silver skulls on both sides of it and now it's ready to take with you to your next rock show!

So excited to have a new model!

Just did a photo shoot with a new local model - she's so pretty! This is one of those examples of what they mean when they say "the camera loves her!" Lots to list in my etsy shop.

Getting caught

I live in a small town, and shop at the local thrift store fairly often for things I can re-vamp to my liking. I'm just waiting for the day when an acquaintance says to me "Hey I used to have some pants just like those, only they weren't that skinny!"

I've been wanting some black pinstripe leggings or skinny pants. So the other day was BOGO day at the thrift shop and I found the perfect pants except the legs were much too wide. I skinnied up the legs, serged the edges and voila! Skinny black pinstriped pants- flat front, washable and with 6% spandex FOR FREE!

How long til someone recognizes their pants?
